Sequential logic

In this chapter we will introduce synchronous sequential logic, starting with the notion of memorisation. We then present the D flip-flop, the principal memorising element used for the implementation of synchronous logic, as well as the timing constraints to guarantee its correct operation. Finally, we will present some applications of synchronous logic.
